Dear Members,

Well wishes to all of you.

I hope 2015 was a great year for you.

In January 2015, FPAS signed a Memorandum of Understanding with NTUC to extend members’ benefits to all FPAS members who sign up under FPAS-NTUC Dual membership. Since then, we had organised a number of events and extended numerous invitations to our members to attend them.

In the area of Consumers Outreach, FPAS was invited to participate in C3A Active Aging Exhibition, SIAS Investment Week, Lifelong Learning Festival and Singapore Prisons Services Financial Literacy workshops. Members of the public gave positive feedbacks of our speakers.

Recently we had also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with FPSB China to promote cross border interaction that may create business opportunities to for our members. With the limited market size of Singapore, our members should explore regional and global markets to expand their financial planning practice.

We had completed a new improved website to bring more resources to educate consumers and create opportunities for consumers to connect with financial planning practitioners like yourself. In 2016, with the upcoming IBF Accreditation of the CFP programme, we would be doing more outreach in partnership with various organizations and financial institutions to create greater awareness of CFP® mark.

In the coming year, FPAS will also be embarking on more focused Consumers Outreach activities; initiatives to enhance professional competency of our members and improve communication to you and various stakeholders.

We look forward to connect with you regularly through a series of Members’ Networking events planned for 2016. The Executive Council want to continue to hear from you and to update you on the various initiatives.

We are also constantly looking for passionate and dedicated volunteers to help shape a better future for all of usand urge you to come forward to help.

Last but not least, on behalf of Executive Council FY2015-17 and the Secretariat Team, I wish all of you A Merry Christmas and A Great 2016 ahead.

Yours sincerely,

Joseph Kwok
President, Executive Council FY2015-17
